"Bobby and I celebrated our 35th wedding anniversary June 30, 2008. We have two daughters and two grandsons. Bobby is retired. I continue to work full-time at Macon State College which is a public 4-year college in Macon, Georgia. Macon has been our home for the past 32 years, so when we return to Colonial Heights to visit my parents and siblings, I feel like a stranger in my hometown.

I’m attaching a picture of Bobby and me which was taken a few years ago that you can post to the website. This photo was taken the year we loaded our family in our Rialta motorhome for a vacation in Dillsboro, NC, the main purpose of which was to take our 3˝ year old grandson to ride Thomas the Train. We stayed in a cabin way-way-way-way up a mountain in Bryson (the photo was taken from the deck of the cabin). Bobby will tell you that the most memorable part of the trip was when, on the day before we were to return home, the Rialta decided it wasn’t going to make it all the way up the road to the cabin—the Rialta started sliding backwards. We were on a one-vehicle road that wrapped around the mountain with steep drops off the side and steep vertical inclines in the road. The cabin rental company should’ve specified off-road vehicles preferred! The Rialta remained in that spot until the next morning when Bobby coaxed it the last twists and turns up the mountain to the cabin. Ah, the things we do for our children and grandchildren!"
